Felix FinkbeinerPlant for the Planet is a Partner of the Plant 2 Trillion Peace Trees Campaign. Plant for the Planet is led by 21-year old Felix Finkbeiner and his army of “climate ambassadors” who have pledged to plant trees and use youth power to avert climate change. The UN handed over to Felix the leadership of its Billion Tree Program, which was inspired by the Kenyan Nobel Peace Prizewinning
activist Wangari Maathai, whose Green Belt Movement planted 30 million trees in Africa. Ever since he was 9 years old, Felix Finkbeiner has been an international figurehead for saving the planet. In 2007,
the German youngster founded a global youth movement called “Plant for the Planet” – an initiative that trains and recruits kids from around the world to plant trees as a means of combating climate change.

THE PROBLEM

Anything man-made can be changed by human beings. Climate change, poverty and the devastation of Mother Earth are just symptoms of the systematic failure of our flawed Extractive Economy (aka Keynesian Economics), which generates wealth by the extraction of natural resources, colonization, war, scarcity, hyper-competition, exploiting people and nature, domination and economic enslavement, unlimited growth, and the destruction of nature. This system only benefits 1% of the world population.

Albert Einstein said, Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

It is time to think outside the box. If our present Extractive Economic System is the root cause of the problem, there are probably no solutions within the system that will work. We might need to replace the box.

We must change the system. We must change the flawed and broken foundations that make up the system. Anything we build on top of a flawed foundation will only end up in failure; the definition of insanity is to keep on doing things the same way expecting different results. Anything that is a human construct or man-made can be changed. We can change the system to make it better.

THE SOLUTION

At the center of this climate and ecological Earth Restoration Plan, includes:

1. CHANGE: Change and upgrade our current extractive economic system into a restorative Living Economic System that protects, restores and nurtures life.

2. PROTECT: Protect nature, including its biodiversity, forests, river, lakes, oceans, animals, and our present ecosystems. These include reducing pollution, cutting fossil fuel use, reducing deforestation, and other attacks on Mother Earth. This includes strengthening laws for nature.

3. RESTORE: We will restore the Earth. This includes restoring the climate, reforesting areas, creating new forests, cleaning up pollution, and restoring the Earth to a garden of Eden.

4. FUND: Fund real solutions that take action on the root causes of the problems, and provide them money to be successful.

One of our major restoration efforts from the Earth Restoration Plan is the Plant 2 Trillion Peace Trees Campaign that will remove 2 trillion tons of greenhouse gases by the time the trees reach 40 years old. The program is not only about planting trees; we will be planting trees in our backyard, in deforested areas, in cities, in deserts, supporting fruit farms, creating food forests, planting kelp and seaweed, planting hemp, restoring faunas, and planting mangroves to slow down hurricanes, We know that this is still not enough but its a good start.

The Plant 2 Trillion Peace Trees program will allow us to jumpstart and implement an alternative economic system called the “Living Economy”.  The Living Economy is a hybrid system combining the restorative economy with the gift economy and runs on decentralized blockchain technology. The new system aligns our compassionate human values with natural law.

New wealth is generated by protecting and restoring the Earth, as well as by giving your talents to the world. New wealth is also generated by sharing, by cooperation, by peace, and by love. The more you give, the more you will receive. We invite you to join us to create a more beautiful world.

The Living Economic System generates wealth by modeling the World Bank’s Natural Accounting System on the blockchain. Wealth is generated by protecting and restoring nature, by peace, by abundance, by cooperation, by taking care of people and nature, by providing economic freedom, by measuring happiness and well-being, and by restoring Mother Earth. This new system will benefit 100% of the world population, including the 1%.

THE GREAT OPPORTUNITY

The LiveHOPE Festival is working with partners to the plant of 20% of trees from the 2 Trillion Peace Trees Campaign; this will gnerate $30 Trillion for the Earth Sovereign Wealth Fund to the implementation of the Earth Restoration Plan. The fund and the Plant 2 Trillion Peace Trees Campaign not only can restore the climate, but it can also simultaneously End Global Poverty. Restoring the climate is one of the greatest wealth-generating opportunities of the 21st century.

2 TRILLION PEACE TREES CAMPAIGN

Help us restore the Mother Earth and our climate

GOAL: to restore the climate, and to end extreme poverty by 2030

The LiveHOPE Festival pays you and your friends to help us “Plant 2 Trillion Peace Trees” by 2030. The trees will create enormous carbon sinks to restore Earth’s climate. Planting 2 trillion trees will allow the trees to remove 2 trillion tons of greenhouse gases by the time the trees reaches 40 years old. This will restore balance to our biosphere and ecosystems. Planting 2 trillion trees within the next 10 years can also help save the Earth from deforestation. In planting the trees, we have to take into account the appropriate native species, the type of soil, and the local native biodiversity.

Trees provide many other benefits to all the inhabitants of Mother Earth. The other benefits for planting more trees include restoring our forests, filter the air, provide fresh drinking water, provide fruits, nuts, syrups, and medicines, protect biodiversity, and create homes for thousands of species of plants and animals. Each tree has a minimum estimated ecological value of $400 to $2550 over the life of the tree (using Natural Capital Accounting to evaluate the tree, the ecosystem services provided by the tree and the carbon credits generated by the tree).

For each tree you plant, nurture and pledge on the blockchain, you will be paid $30;

  • $10 goes to the tree planter, planting and nurturing the healthy tree,

  • $10 will go the local organization working with the tree planter, managing the Plant 2 Trillion Peace Trees Campaign, and

  • $10 goes to the local governments managing the Plant 2 Trillion Peace Trees Campaign. This money is used to support the Enhanced SDG program.

For example, if you plant 1,000 trees (saplings), you can make $30,000 for yourself and your community. The remaining value of the tree will be rolled into the Earth Sovereign Wealth Fund Program.

The LiveHOPE Festival is working with partners to plant 20% of the 2 trillion trees, which will generate over $30 Trillion in Living Carbon Credits (over a 50 year period) plus the Natural Capital Asset value of the trees itself for the Earth Sovereign Wealth Fund; not only can the Plant 2 Trillion Peace Trees Campaign restore the climate, but the $30 trillion from the Earth Sovereign Wealth Fund also will be used to simultaneously End Global Poverty, and to restore the Earth.

Each tree that is planted can be registered, tracked and monetized using the World Bank’s Natural Capital Accounting System as an asset (value of the trees + ecosystem services + carbon credits) on the blockchain in the form of a forward contract (“a type of financial instrument”). Tradable Smart Asset Tokens are then generated from the forward contracts using smart contracts. The Smart Asset Tokens act as digital assets to generate the Earth Sovereign Wealth Fund. The Earth Sovereign Wealth Fund is then distributed via the Earth Dollar to fund projects related to the Sustainable Development Goals and to pay for the Plant 2 Trillion Peace Trees Campaign.

We will be planting new trees in forests, in the backyards of homes, and in newly created green spaces, as well as creating fruit forests for people to get free fruits. The 900 cities and 7,000 schools that have declared climate emergencies can also plant trees locally. Whole deserts can be regreened and turned into oases.

This is a really big campaign to restore the climate. We need your help to mobilize almost everyone on Earth to participate. We can change the course of history together.

Note: the Plant 2 Trillion Peace Trees Campaign is payable in Earth Dollars and convertible to USD equivalent or other local currencies via the LiveHOPE App, Debit Cards and Prepaid Credit Cards.

TELEVISED GLOBALLY

THE CLIMATE (R)EVOLUTION CONFERENCE

SDG Conference to restore the climate

LiveHope’s Climate (R)evolution Conference is the world’s largest televised climate restoration conference. The conference will present solutions, advances in science, practices, policies, and implement strategies to restore the climate, the environment, and biodiversity. Across the globe, centuries of unsustainable activities have damaged the climate, aquatic, marine, and terrestrial environments that underpin our economies and societies and give rise to a diversity of wildlife and plants.

Climate change and ecological destruction are still accelerating, despite the Paris accord, in a political and economic context shaped by the recent eruptions in anti-science populism. We cannot depend on the political will of politicians alone to solve these emergencies.

One of the biggest action to restore the climate at LiveHOPE is a campaign to mobilize people to Plant 2 Trillion Peace Trees. The 2 Trillion Trees can remove 2 Trillion tons of greenhouse gases by the time the trees reaches 40 years old, and restore balance to our biosphere and ecosystems.

Ending our dependence on fossil fuels to prevent further damage to our climate and ecosystems cannot reverse the changes we have already made or guarantee a habitable planet. That is why we implementing strategies to restore the climate and our environment. The process of assisting the recovery of an ecosystem that has been degraded, damaged or destroyed needs to cooperative efforts of scientists, researchers, academia, organizations, and governments.

We want to make sure that we have a healthy future for humanity. Our children and future generations deserve to live on a healthy planet. Since we live in an interconnected world, here are some related SDGs:
